Dear Editor, I believe that ALL the members of Eureka’s Cemetery Commission (except Glenna Booth) should immediately resign from their positions, and if not, then the city council should do its duty by removing them from said commission, as they have shown themselves incapable of following the FOIA rules which govern public commission procedures, not to mention their blatant defamation of both myself, Patrick Lujan, and the former groundskeeper, David Helms. I am extremely disappointed in the commission’s actions and words, and needless to say, can no longer continue on as sexton.

Thanks to the generosity of several individuals and businesses, 21 local students will be able to participate in summer band camps. Jim Swiggart with the Carroll County Community Orchestra recently announced that, because of the financial support from the community, students will receive scholarships to attend summer camps at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

This listing includes individuals who have been booked into the Carroll County Detention Center. Charges may be reduced or dropped, and individuals are presumed innocent until being found guilty. As of Tuesday, June 14, a total of 100 inmates were being housed in the detention center.
This week our pet of the week is Otis. Otis is a young adult pup with lots of energy and lots of love. He enjoys playing with other dogs and really has fun in water. Jimmie Carroll and Wanda Warren will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on June 23. The couple has two daughters, Donna and Quetta, along with three beautiful granddaughters, their husbands and five great-grandchildren. The Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 202 W. Madison Ave. in Berryville. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Lunch is served at noon each weekday.
