Members of the Eureka Springs Parks and Recreation Commission said they received “numerous” calls and messages from residents inquiring why there was no fireworks display in the city for the Fourth of July holiday.

FAYETTEVILLE — In a world with shrinking freshwater resources for a growing human population, where do you find enough moisture to grow food? You might start by improving water use efficiency in the world’s number one livestock animal — chickens.

Eureka Springs Hospital will host its next COVID-19 vaccine clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, July 29, at the Eureka Springs Hospital Clinic across the street from the hospital. Moderna and Pfizer vaccines will be available.

The shelves at the Flint Street Food Pantry in Eureka Springs are becoming quite bare and director Kathy Barnes is hoping the public can help fill them back up. “Prices have gone up and the numbers have gone up of people we are serving,” Barnes said.

The American Legion post in Green Forest recently held a cookout for local students who attended Boys State and Girls State this summer. The Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 202 W. Madison Ave. in Berryville. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Lunch is served at noon each weekday. The suggested donation for ages 60 and up is $4. There is a $6 charge for those under 60 and all carryout meals. Breakfast is served Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Menus are subject to change.
