Home News State grant helps with utilities at museum State grant helps with utilities at museumSeptember 27, 2022News Arkansas Heritage Director Jimmy Bryant presents Saunders Memorial Museum director Joan Lasseter (right) and Berryville City Council member and museum volunteer Linda Riddlesperger with a check for $2,500, awarded as a sustainability grant through the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism. The grant, funded by an eighth-cent state conservation tax, will be used to cover utility costs for the museum. The Small Museum Grant Program aims to increase the ability of community- based small museums and organizations to research, preserve, present and conserve Arkansas history. Saunders Museum, which opened in 1956, is open from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
