Berryville School District Superintendent Owen Powell recently updated the district’s board of directors on the LEARNS Act signed into law by Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
The agenda was light, but public opinions were heavy at the March 13 meeting of the Eureka Springs City Council. The first item of new business originally on the agenda was the “Review of 1 Washington St as a Nuisance Structure.” That property was damaged by fire in March 2022, displacing seven residents.
Bids for the construction of a new cafeteria for elementary and middle school students in Eureka Springs came in much higher than Superintendent Bryan Pruitt anticipated. Pruitt gave the school board an update on the process at its regular meeting Monday, March 13.
