SENIOR CENTER MENUS

The Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 202 W. Madison Ave. in Berryville. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Lunch is served at noon each weekday. The suggested donation for ages 60 and up is $4. There is a $6 charge for those under 60 and all carryout meals. Menus are subject to change.

A new area code is coming to Carroll County and the rest of the region that currently uses the 870 area code, according to the Arkansas Public Service Commission. While that will require a bit of a change in making calls, existing 870 area code customers will keep that area code.

Water rates in Eureka Springs are one vote away from a 25 percent increase. With little discussion, the Eureka Springs City Council voted 5-1 at its July 10 regular meeting at The Auditorium to approve the second reading of a proposed ordinance that would increase the water portion of utility bills for all residential and business customers.

A Berryville man was sentenced to eight years in prison last week after pleading guilty to felony charges and admitting he arranged to meet a law enforcem ent officer, whom he believed was a teenage girl, for a sexual encounter.
