Runners take off at the start of the annual Rat Race 5K in Green Forest on Saturday, June 22. Nearly 300 people participated in the 5K and over events. The Rat Race honors the memory of Green Forest native Tommy Ratzlaff, a Navy SEAL, and 30 others who died when their helicopter was shot down over Afghanistan on Aug. 6, 2011. Proceeds from the event are used to fund scholarships for local students and for counseling for local students who have lost a parent or caregiver. See more photos on Page 7.
