Joe Scott, president of the Berryville Library Advisory Board, speaks during a news conference on April 1, 2021, to announce the official beginning of the fundraising effort for the construction of a new library building in Berryville. Groundbreaking for the new building was scheduled for Tuesday morning, April 1, 2025 — exactly four years later. More than $3.5 million has been raised by the Friends of the Berryville Library — enough to cover construction costs — but additional funds are still needed for furnishings. Tuesday is also Library Giving Day. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation toward the furnishings in the new library or find out more about naming opportunities, visit the library at 104 Spring St., or call the library at 870-423-2323 or Kristy Tesch at 870-654-6565.
