LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas is blessed with an abundance of wildlife and their offspring. Throughout the spring and summer, it is not uncommon to come across unattended baby wild animals.

PHOTOS BY HEATHER McLOUD After two years off because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Miss Royal Scoop pageant returned to the Ice Cream Social calendar this year. The annual pageant, held at the Berryville Community Center, featured one big change from previous years, as organizers decided to hold the pageant on Thursday, which gave the winners more opportunities to interact with visitors and guests at the Ice Cream Social.

The children of Dixie Minick Stewart wish to announce the celebration of their mother’s 90th birthday on Saturday, July 2, 2022, from 2-4 p.m. at Boyd Church of God, 764 County Road 436 in Berryville. Jimmie Carroll and Wanda Warren will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on June 23. The couple has two daughters, Donna and Quetta, along with three beautiful granddaughters, their husbands and five great-grandchildren. This week our pet of the week is Otis. Otis is a young adult pup with lots of energy and lots of love. He enjoys playing with other dogs and really has fun in water. Otis would love to make a home with you. You can visit Otis and any of the other adoptable pets at the Good Shepherd Humane Society Adoption Center on Highway 62. This week our Pet of the Week is Mishka, an adult grey tabby. She is a very sweet and loving kitty. Mishka also has a really cute chirp she gives out when she is getting petted by someone she loves. Mishka will make a great addition to any family. You can meet Mishka at the Good Shepherd Humane Society Adoption Center on Highway 62. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. The suggested donation for ages 60 and up is $4. There is a $6 charge for those under 60. Menus are subject to change as needed.
