Eureka Springs’ Vicki Hardcastle is a fiber artist and a new member of the Arkansas Craft Guild, a fine arts and crafts cooperative since 1962 based in Mountain View. Hardcastle has lived in Eureka Springs since the early 1990s and is the sole proprietor of Hardcastle Folk Art store in Berryville on the downtown square.

The Berryville School District was recently notified by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas that both Berryville High School and Berryville Middle School were being recognized for outstanding student growth on the ACT Aspire state assessment in the area of English Language Arts.

The Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 202 W. Madison Ave. in Berryville. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Lunch is served at noon each weekday. The suggested donation for ages 60 and up is $4. There is a $6 charge for those under 60 and all carryout meals. Breakfast is served Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Menus are subject to change.

The annual Carroll County fair association board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at the Carroll County Cattlemen’s building on the grounds of the Carroll County Fairgrounds. The purpose of the board meeting is to reelect board members and prospective board members and 2023 officers. If you are interested in being part of the Carroll County Fair and Livestock Association, please make plans to attend this meeting.

This listing includes individuals who have been booked into the Carroll County Detention Center. Charges may be reduced or dropped, and individuals are presumed innocent until being found guilty. As of Friday, Dec. 23, a total of 111 inmates were being housed in the detention center.
