City receives $1.125 million state grant
The city of Berryville has been awarded a $1.25 million grant from the Arkansas Natural Resources Council, Mayor Tim McKinney announced during a city council meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

A nativity scene placed in Eureka Springs’ Basin Spring Park by the Great Passion Play will remain in place, the play’s executive director announced Monday, Dec. 5, after city officials requested the week before that it be removed.

The Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 202 W. Madison Ave. in Berryville. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Lunch is served at noon each weekday. The suggested donation for ages 60 and up is $4. There is a $6 charge for those under 60 and all carryout meals. Breakfast is served Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Menus are subject to change.

Walmart donates $25,000 for new library
Friends of the Berryville Library members, community leaders and Walmart executives gathered at the Berryville Library on Tuesday, Nov. 29, as Walmart Inc. director of public affairs and government relations Michael Lindsey and Berryville Walmartstore manager Malachi McDonald announced Walmart Inc.’s intention to pledge $25,000 toward the construction of a new Berryville library.
