Active cases of COVID-19 in Carroll County dropped slightly over the past week, with 13 cases reported Monday by the Arkansas Department of Health. Statewide, the active case total showed a nearly 25 percent increase, rising to 2,057 — the third consecutive week of rising numbers.

Freeman Heights Baptist Church in Berryville held its 19th annual AWANA pinewood derby race on April 6. Pre-kindergartners through sixth-graders competed in the event as many more watched.

Robert Kennedy, the candidate for Carroll County sheriff who was arrested last week on multiple felony charges, was released from jail Sunday night after posting bond. Kennedy was released from the Carroll County Detention Center in Berryville around 8 p.m.
