It’s hard to have a much better day at the plate than Green Forest senior Leah Evans enjoyed against Yellville-Summit on Friday, April 14. Evans went 4-for-4, including a pair of home runs, drove in seven runs and scored four times as the Lady Tigers rolled to a 16-9 road victory.

Green Forest sophomore Lydia Russell had quite a day at the Rosson Relays on Thursday, April 13, in Harrison. Russell competed in six events for the Lady Tigers, winning two and placing among the top three in three other events.

Conference play couldn’t have started any better for the Berryville High School boys soccer team. The Bobcats won their first two 4A West games of the season last week, winning 3-1 at Gentry on Wednesday, April 5, and 8-0 the next night at home against Gentry.

Berryville High School sophomore Malachi Houghton took first place in both the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs at the Anstaff Relays on Wednesday, April 6, in Green Forest. Houghton finished the 1,600-meter race in 5:02.08 and the 3,200 meters in 11:03.50.

The Green Forest Tigers won a pair of 3A West conference soccer games on the road last week, defeating Life Way Christian and Thaden by identical 7-1 scores on Wednesday, April 5, and Thursday, April 6.

Five or six runs is a big inning for a high school baseball team, but the Green Forest Tigers went way beyond that in a victory over Lead Hill on Monday, April 3.
