It’s safe to say Timothy Ingram is enjoying as first season as the head wrestling coach at Berryville High School.
Ingram’s team is off to a solid start, led by several experienced wrestlers.
On the boys side, seniors Ocean Mullins and Zydon Ballard and junior TJ Wolfe set the tone for the Bobcats. Mullins and Wolfe both earned All-State honors last season.
Ingram said Mullins has a chance to compete for a state championship in the 150-pound weight class.
“He’s just a phenomenal wrestler and an all-around great kid,” Ingram said. “He has great leadership and I think he had a great shot to win state.”
Ballard wrestles in the 285-pound weight class.
“He’s been in wrestling since he could walk, from what I understand,” Ingram said. “He’s doing really well. He beat one of the top kids from Gentry in that weight class. He’s another one of my captains that has great leadership skills.”
Ingram said Wolfe is ranked second in the state at 138 pounds.
“He’s another one of those kids that’s been in the program for a while,” Ingram said. “He’s a phenomenal wrestler as well.”
Berryville also has eight female wrestlers, which Ingram said he believes is the most in program history. The girls are led by junior Paola Arrizon.
“She’s just naturally talented,” Ingram said. “She beat the No. 1 girl for the 145-pound weight class.”
