District Mission: Ensuring high levels of learning for everyone, every day!

It’s hard to believe the holidays are right around the corner! Thanksgiving break is just ahead — there will be no school Nov. 24–28, and we’ll be back in session on Monday, Dec. 1. As we head into this season of gratitude, our schools have so many achievements and amazing people to celebrate.

High School Highlights Let’s start at the high school, where our students and staff have been busy making history!

• Jessi Smith has earned a $104,000 scholarship to John Brown University! This is an incredible accomplishment, and we are so proud of Jessi and all her hard work.

• On the athletic front, Taylor Ward received All-State honors in cross country, and Hannah Campbell was selected for All-State in volleyball. Congratulations to these outstanding student-athletes!

Academics are shining, too:

• The high school math team was recognized for having the highest growth scores among poverty schools in the entire state of Arkansas.

• The school is also receiving close to $25,000 in award money from the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education for high student growth.

• Teacher Ciera Woodruff was honored with the 2025 McDonald’s Outstanding Educator Award. We’re grateful for her dedication to our students.

And the Bobcat spirit doesn’t stop there:

• The Bobcat Band placed 3rd at the ASBA state competition — the highest finish in school history!

• Delene McCoy and the GT program received the Econ Rock Star Award from Economics Arkansas, along with $1,000 in recognition.

• Our hardworking cafeteria staff received an appreciation award from the Carroll County Juvenile Probation Office for their service and support.

Bobcat Athletics: Carroll County Champs

Bobcat fans have had plenty to cheer about this year!

• The Senior High football team brought home a big win in the Carroll County Super Bowl, defeating the Green Forest Tigers 45–15.

• Not to be outdone, the Jr. High Bobcats also won their Carroll County Super Bowl matchup last week.Congratulations to all the players and coaches on an impressive season!

Basketball season is tipping off soon:

• The Lady Bobcat basketball team opens their season on the road at the Clarksville Classic on Tuesday, Nov. 11, taking on Clarksville.

• The first home Bobcat basketball games will be on Thursday, Nov. 13, at Bobcat Arena vs. Cotter, starting at 5 p.m. It’s a two-game night, beginning with senior high girls, followed by senior high boys. Come out and pack the stands!

Elementary, Intermediate and Middle School News There’s plenty happening across our campuses in November:

• Both the elementary and intermediate schools will host Celebration Day on No. 21. Families are encouraged to follow their social media pages and check student folders for specific details and schedules.

• The middle school Student Council is leading a food drive all month long. You can drop off non-perishable food items at the middle school through Nov. 30. Donations will help support families in need during this holiday season.

Report to the Public: Stay Informed

We invite everyone in the community to attend the annual Report to the Public on Monday, November 17, at 6 p.m. in the administration office. This is a great opportunity to learn about recent academic progress, hear updates on funding and curriculum, and stay informed about what’s happening in the district. Join us if you can—your support and involvement make a difference.

From academic honors and state awards to championship wins and community service, we truly have a lot to be thankful for in Bobcat Nation this November. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
