Builders of Berryville

City honors long-standing businesses as part of sesquicentennial celebration

The City of Berryville honored more than two dozen local businesses during its Builders of Berryville celebration Thursday, May 21, in the Berryville High School Performing Arts Center.

The event recognized businesses that have operated in Berryville for 50 years or more, including six that have been in operation for more than 100 years.

Those six businesses are:

• Hanby Lumber Company

• Bank of 1889

• Anstaff Bank

• CS Bank

• Poynor Drug

• Berryville School District

Additional honorees that have been in business for 50 years or more are:

Dean Lee, economic development director for the city of Berryville, and city parks director Jamie Hussey served as masters of ceremonies for the event.

Lee also presented Mayor Tim McKinney with a special award for his years of service to the city. McKinney has been Berryville’s mayor for more than 30 years and is the longest-tenured active mayor in Arkansas.
