District Mission: Ensuring high levels of learning for everyone, every day!
Bobcat Families & Community Members, I want to begin this month’s Buzz by simply expressing gratitude to such a generous community. There are far too many churches, organizations and individuals to list that have a positive impact on Berryville Schools. So many of you donate to Shop With a Cop, sponsor students on the Angel Tree, give to Bright Futures throughout the year and adopt families who need support during the holiday season. Thank you for your kindness and for the support you help provide to our most precious commodity — the children of Berryville.
There are a few important events coming up that you may want to note on your December calendars. The winter Choir Concert is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, in the Performing Arts Center. Bobcat Athletics will be hosting the annual Holiday Hoops Tournament during the break from Dec. 26-28. Come out and support the choir and basketball teams.
Congratulations to Bailey Skelton for being recognized as the Rotary Student of the Month. Luke Dignan and Tessa Parton were honored as the Elks Students of the Quarter recently as well. We are excited for these students and to the 126 high schoolers who were celebrated for perfect attendance last week. In addition to students, there are also 65 staff members with perfect attendance this quarter! Great job everyone!
FCCLA students will be competing in Star Events on Dec. 11-12 in Mountain Home. Good luck to the participants and sponsor, Chandra Davis! One of the most important skills students learn by being involved in a school club is the importance of helping others. The FFA organization gifted food for 29 families in the community and 78 Bobcat students for Thanksgiving this year. We appreciate the work of the FFA kids and their sponsor, Christy Skelton.
Berryville Elementary School had a “Disguise the Turkey” contest right before Thanksgiving break. Armani Cenobio-Tapia was the kindergarten winner, Marbry Keith won the prize for first grade, and Ivory Baker won in second grade. Congratulations!
To show appreciation for an incredible staff, K-2 Elementary will be hosting the 12 Days of Christmas Fun from Dec. 5-20. It’s their way of saying thank you to the teachers and staff who go above and beyond every day. Students in the building will be celebrating Christmas Spirit Week the last week of the semester, Dec. 16-20. Be sure to join in on the festive activities and fun if you can!
Be sure to keep up with all things Berryville Schools by accessing our social media outlets and the phone app (BPS Bobcats). Have a wonderful Christmas break and Happy New Year!
