Several events are planned in Carroll County in celebration of Easter, which will be on Sunday, April 20. Here is a list of events. Note: Some events may not be included.
ALL EASTER WEEKEND
• “Celebrate Jesus Weekend” will be held in downtown Eureka Springs from Friday, April 18, through Sunday, April 20. The event will include the Celebrate Jesus parade at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 19. Other events include Music in the Park at Basin Spring Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, April 18, and Saturday, April 19.
• The annual Easter Sunrise Service at the foot of the Christ of the Ozarks at The Great Passion Play will be held at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 20. In case of rain, the event moves inside to the Buffet. In addition, The Great Passion play will have special performances on Good Friday and Holy Saturday, April 18 and 19, at 7:30 p.m. each day. • Alpena First Baptist Church will host Stations of the Cross from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The church is located at 12111 U.S. Highway 62 in Alpena.
• Alpena Methodist Church at 207 W. Hill St. will hold a Holy Thursday Service at 6 p.m.
FRIDAY, APRIL 18
• Alpena First Baptist Church will host Stations of the Cross from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The church is located at 12111 U.S. Highway 62 in Alpena. The church will hold its Good Friday Service at 6 p.m.
• Berryville United Methodist Church at 400 Eureka Ave. will host “The Weeping Tree: A Cantata,” at 6 p.m. The event is a musical of the Passion, performed by the Berryville United Methodist Choir, led by Desiree Atchley with piano accompaniment by John Trice. All are welcome.
• Towering Oaks Church Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, April 18. The event will include a puppet show, songs and prizes. The church is located at 1158 Highway 62 West in Berryville.
SATURDAY, APRIL 19
• New Life Church will host an Easter Eggstravaganza at the Carroll County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 19. The event will include egg hunting, bounce houses, and more. All are welcome.
• The Easter Bunny will be roving around downtown Eureka Springs leaving Easter eggs for kids from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 19.
• A community egg hunt will begin at 2 p.m. in Alpena City Park.
SUNDAY, APRIL 20
• Alpena First Baptist Church at 12111 U.S. Highway 62 in Alpena will host a sunrise service at 7 a.m., followed by breakfast. After the morning service at 11 a.m., there will be a potluck lunch and egg hunt.
• Alpena Methodist Church and Alpena First Baptist Church will hold a joint sunrise service and breakfast beginning at 7 a.m. at Alpena First Baptist Church on Highway 412 East.
• Eureka Springs United Methodist Church, located at 195 Huntsville Road, will host an Easter sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. followed by breakfast and a 10 a.m. Easter Celebration.
• The Alpena Methodist Church Choir will present Easter Cantatas at 9 a.m. at Shiloh Methodist Church at Dry Fork on Highway 412 and at 11 a.m. at Alpena Methodist Church at 207 W. Hill St.
• Freeman Heights Baptist Church at 522 W. Freeman Ave. in Berryville will hold a breakfast fellowship potluck at 9:30 a.m. and a Resurrection Morning Celebration Service at 10:45 a.m.
• Beth’el Baptist, 1305 East Main Street, Green Forest, will hold its Easter Sunday service at 10:30 a.m., including a children’s church.
• First Baptist Church of Green Forest, 220 West Main Street, will host its annual Easter worship service at 10:30 a.m.
• First Assembly of God of Green Forest, 673 Highway 103 North, will hold their “Resurrection Day” service at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 20.
• The 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa in Eureka Springs will host its annual Easter egg hunt featuring more than 1,000 eggs and a special golden egg for each age group on Sunday, April 20. The hunt begins at 1 p.m. for kids up to 6 years old on the east lawn and at 1:15 p.m. for kids 6-12 in the fountain garden area. The Easter Bunny will visit kids after the hunt. In the event of rain, the event will be moved inside the hotel on the fourth floor.
