They’re at it again.

Green Forest seniors Lydia Russell and Arauny Reyes, owners of six state championships between them, put on a show for the home crowd at last week’s Tyson Relays.

Russell and Reyes won a total of eight events at the meet held Thursday, March 13, at Green Forest.

Russell, who won a total of five state titles over the past two years, dominated the girls division, winning five events and placing second in another.

Russell won the 100-meter dash (13.12 seconds), the 200-meter dash (27.81), the 100-meter hurdles (16.66), the 300-meter hurdles (49.77) and the triple jump (34 feet, 2 inches). She placed second in the long jump (14-8).

Russell won four Class 3A state titles as a sophomore in 2023, taking gold in the 100- and 300-meter hurdles, long jump and triple jump. She won her second consecutive state title in the 100-meter hurdles in 2024 and set a school record while finishing second in the 300 hurdles.

Green Forest junior Emily Sales finished fourth in the 800-meter run (3:00.11) and fifth in the 1,600 (6:44.29) at the Tyson Relays. Sophomore Mistie Hughes took fifth in the pole vault (6-0).

On the boys side, Reyes won the 800-meter run (2:09.80), the 1,600-meter run (4:58.44) and the 3,200-meter run (10:51.99). Reyes won the Class 3A 1,600-meter crown as a junior last season.

Green Forest sophomore Ywa Hay Moo won the 110-meter hurdles (17.32) at the Tyson Relays and finished third in both the 100- (11.91) and 200-meter (24.46) dashes. Another Tigers sophomore, Grady Massengale, took fifth in the 800 (2:24.71). Classmate D.J. Rang finished fourth in the pole vault (9-0), while senior Isiah Lopez was fourth in the discus (106-10). The Tigers took second place in the 4X100 relay (48.07).

Green Forest finished third in both the boys and girls team standings. The Tigers and Lady Tigers will compete in the Goblin Relays on April 3 at Harrison.
