Green Forest turned in several strong performances Friday at the Senior Bomber Relays in Mountain Home,on Thursday, April 23, led by a runner-up finish from Kaylyn Smith in the girls triple jump.
Smith posted a mark of 33 feet, 1.75 inches to place second in the event, giving the Lady Tigers their highest individual finish of the day. She also added an eighth-place finish in the long jump and placed third in the shot put with a throw of 31-2.
Green Forest collected multiple additional top-five finishes in the field events.
Lita Kaminaga finished third in the girls javelin with a throw of 47-5 and added a 15th-place finish in the shot put. Mariana Ortega took fifth in the javelin at 47-0, while Atziri Lopez was sixth at 43-5.
On the track, Avaley Gardner posted a third-place finish in the girls 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.67 seconds.
For the boys, Grady Massengale turned in the Tigers’ top performance with a fifth-place finish in the discus after recording a throw of 122-6. He also placed 11th in the high jump and 12th in the javelin.
The Green Forest boys’ 4x100-meter relay team added a fourth-place finish in 48.37 seconds.
