The Berryville Lady Bobcats scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, then held on for a 19-17 victory over visiting Green Forest in a matchup of Carroll County rivals on Thursday, April 17, at the Berryville Sports Complex.
Green Forest scored nine runs in the top of the sixth to take a 16-14 lead before Berryville’s game-winning rally.
Codi Joubert led Berryville’s offensive attack with three hits and three runs driven in. She hit a home run leading off the bottom of the second, added an RBI single later in that inning and accounted for the Lady Bobcats’ final run with an RBI double in the sixth.
Emma Watson had three hits, scored three runs and drove in two for Green Forest, while Bella Phillips added two hits while scoring four runs and driving in three for the Lady Tigers.
Harrison 12, Berryville 11
The Harrison Lady Goblins scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 1211 walkoff victory over Berryville on Monday, April 14, in Harrison.
Berryville had scored six runs in the top of the sixth inning for an 11-7 lead, but Harrison answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning and then held the Lady Bobcats scoreless in the top of the seventh.
Ivie Bickel, Sage Griffin, Haliegh Keith and Addi Teigan each had two hits for Berryville, with Kendall Gonce driving in three runs on a bases-load triple that put the Lady Bobcats ahead 8-7 in the sixth. Bickel, Griffin, Keith and Gonce scored two runs apiece for the Lady Bobcats.
