Green Forest senior Lydia Russell continued her dominance as the Lady Tigers competed in the Ross Invitational track and field meet on Thursday, April 17, in Harrison.
Russell competed in five individual events, winning four and finishing second in the other. Russell won the 100-meter dash (13.13 seconds), the 100-meter hurdles (16.90), the 300-meter hurdles (49.47) and the long jump (16 feet, 7.25 inches). She came in second in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 28.31 seconds — 0.54 seconds behind the winner.
Green Forest’s Emily Sales finished fifth in the 3,200-meter run (15:41.44), while Mariana Ortega was fifth in the discus (66-10).
Green Forest finished fourth in the girls team standings.
On the boys side, Tigers senior Arauny Reyes was second in the 1,600-meter run (4:43.43), while sophomore Ywa Hay Moo was second in the 110-meter hurdles, and third in the 100-meter dash (12.14) and the long jump (19-1.25). DJ Rang finished second in the pole vault (10-0) and Isiah Lopez was second in the discus (110-9). Silas Sparkman took fourth place in the shot put (36-8). The Tigers were fourth in both the 4X100 and 4X200 relays.
The Green Forest boys were fifth in the team standings.
