Track and field athletes from Berryville, Eureka Springs and Green Forest turned in a number of top-five performances at the Goblin Relays on Thursday, March 19, in Harrison.
Berryville’s Bella Biggerstaff claimed first place in the girls shot put with a throw of 29-7 and added a fourth-place finish in the discus at 67-6.
Chaney Fairweather recorded two top-three finishes, placing second in the long jump (155.50) and third in the high jump (4-8).
On the boys side, Kale Smith finished second in the triple jump (39-10), while Dwayne Lang placed fourth in the same event (36-3). Berryville also earned a win in the boys 4x100-meter relay, finishing first with a time of 48.45 seconds.
Green Forest also produced multiple standout performances, led by Kaylyn Smith, who had one of the top individual days of the meet. Smith won the girls 200-meter dash in 28.58 seconds and the triple jump with a mark of 34-3.50, while also placing second in the 400-meter dash (1:05.08) and third in the 100-meter dash (13.90).
Mariana Ortega added a first-place finish in the discus (86-8), while Lorena Ortega placed fifth in the 3200-meter run (23:23.56).
On the boys side, Andrix Ryan turned in three top-three finishes, placing second in the 110-meter hurdles (20.39) and third in the 300-meter hurdles (50.89). Antony Serrano added a fourth-place finish in the 3200-meter run (13:54.61).
Eureka Springs was led by Addie Blackwelder, who placed third in the pole vault (6-0) and fourth in the high jump (4-6).
For the Highlanders’ boys team, Dakota Linder finished fourth in the pole vault with a height of 8-0.
