Several local high school basketball players have been recognized with postseason honors for their performance during the 2024-25 season.
A trio of Berryville juniors earned All-State recognition. Peyton Smith, who scored his 1,000th career point during the Bobcats’ final game of the season against Dardanelle in the regional tournament, was named to the Class 4A boys all-state team. Kaylyn Smith and Paige Thurman, meanwhile, were selected to the Class 4A girls allstate team.
Berryville was well-represented on the 4A-1 All-Conference teams, as well.
On the boys side, Peyton Smith earned all-conference honors along with sophomore CT Hicks, who also was named to the conference’s all-defensive team. Sophomores John Butler, Carson McMellon and Hudson Norris all were honorable-mention all-conference selections.
On the girls side, senior Taelor Tomlinson and juniors Hailey Howerton and Tessa Johnson earned all-conference honors, while senior Kynadee Hopper was named to the conference’s all-defensive team.
Green Forest senior Zak Watson was named to the boys 4A-1 All-Conference team and also was nominated to play in this summer’s Arkansas High School Coaches Association All-Star game. Classmate Mason Meador was named to the conference’s all-defensive team.
On the girls side, senior Kayla Lozano was an all-conference selection and All-Star game nominee, while classmate Lydia Russell earned all-defensive honors.
