So far, so good for the Green Forest soccer teams in Class 4A.
The Green Forest boys, who moved up to 4A after winning two consecutive Class 3A state championships, seem to have made the adjustment just fine.
The Tigers picked up a pair of big victories in 4A West conference play last week, topping Clarksville — the defending 4A state champ — 3-1 on Tuesday, March 11, before topping Morrilton 1-0 on the road on Thursday, March 13, when Adrian Ortiz scored on a penalty kick.
The Green Forest girls also picked up a victory at Morrilton, winning 9-0 as senior Kayla Lozano scored six times. Stephanie Gonzalez, Thanya Rabanales and Yasmin Saucedo each added single goals for Green Forest.
Both Green Forest teams will host Dardanelle on Tuesday, March 18, and Prairie Grove on Thursday, March 20.
