Tigers lose 2 to open season

The Green Forest Tigers dropped their first two games of the season last week, losing to West Fork 63-46 at home on Tuesday, Nov. 19, and 71-42 at Reeds Spring, Mo., on Friday, Nov. 22.

West Fork outscored Green Forest 18-10 in the second quarter to take a 35-24 halftime lead, then extended that to 50-36 by the end of the third quarter. Senior Zak Watson and sophomore Collin Atchison each scored 15 points for Green Forest, with Watson grabbing eight rebounds.

Against Reeds Spring, Green Forest fell behind 31-16 at halftime and 49-29 after three quarters.

Atchison had a big game for the Tigers with 18 points, including a pair of three-pointers. He also had five steals. Sophomore Grady Massengale made two three-pointers and scored 10 points to go along with six rebounds.

Green Forest will play Cedarville on Dec. 2.
