Both Berryville High School teams will be competing in tournaments this week, with the boys hosting the 4A Boys Classic at Bobcat Arena and the girls competing in the annual Blue Eye Tournament.
The 4A Boys Classic features a field of six Class 4A teams. Berryville is joined by 4A-1 conference rivals Gentry and Huntsville along with Southside Charter, Mena and Wynne.
The tournament does not feature a bracket; instead each team will play three games on consecutive days starting Thursday, Dec. 5.
That night, Gentry faces Southside Charter at 5 p.m., followed by Huntsville vs. Mena at 6:20 p.m. and Berryville vs. Wynne at 7:40 p.m.
On Friday, Dec. 6, Gentry takes on Mena at 5 p.m., with Huntsville playing Wynne at 6:20 p.m. and Berryville facing Southside Charter at 7:40 p.m.
On the tournament’s final day, Saturday, Dec. 7, Gentry and Wynne tip off at 1 p.m., with Huntsville playing Southside Charter at 2:20 p.m. and Berryville facing Mena at 3:40 p.m.
The Lady Bobcats are the top seed in the Blue Eye Invitational. They took on Spokane, Mo., on Monday night, Dec. 2.
The Green Forest Lady Tigers are seeded seventh. They played Marionville, Mo., on Monday night, Dec. 2.
First-round games continue on Tuesday, Dec. 3, with the next two rounds set for Thursday and Friday, Dec. 5-6. Each team is guaranteed three games in the eight-team tournament.
Green Forest will host its annual Anstaff Bank Holiday Tournament starting Saturday, Dec. 7. The Green Forest boys will face Lead Hill at 7:20 p.m. Berryville’s boys will play at 7:20 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, against the winner of a Dec. 7 game between Kingston and Blue Eye.
In the girls division, Berryville tips off at 6:20 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, against Lead Hill, with the winner advancing to face Huntsville on Wednesday, Dec. 11.
Green Forest’s boys are competing this week in the Duel at the Dome tournament at West Fork.
