Join your friends at the Berryville Library this fall and learn all about making zines, a fun way to share your voice, views, and creativity with the world in the form of a handmade magazine. Zine-making is for creative people of all ages.
A free special zine-making workshop will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14. This workshop is being taught by award-winning author and illustrator Zeke Peña, who will help you think of ways you can unleash your creativity and best life advice onto a page both visually and verbally. The workshop is open to all ages 13 and up. Space is limited, so call the Berryville Library at 870-423-2323 to reserve your spot.
You can also cash in on your creativity by participating in the Community Zine project. The Berryville Library is accepting submissions until Oct. 25. Submissions can be pieces of art or writing or collage or some kind of combination with a maximum size of 8.5 inches by 11 inches. Participants are invited to share your best piece of general life advice or a fun thought about what it takes to survive and thrive in the Ozarks. Each person may submit up to five pieces, and those whose pieces are selected to be published in the community zine will be rewarded with $20 for each piece selected.
For more information on the workshop or the Berryville Community Zine project, contact the Berryville Library at 870-423-2323 or visit berryvillelibrary. org.
