HowertonAlberta Jean Howerton of Berryville was born December 7, 1933, in Dog Branch, Arkansas to Denver and Janie (Fultz) Phillips. Alberta passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at her home surrounded by loved ones at the age of 91.
Alberta worked for Tyson Foods where she retired after 30 plus years. She attended Metalton United Baptist Church. She spent her free time working in her yard, going to auctions, yardsales, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Angelow, Roger Howerton and wife Belinda; grandchildren, Justin Hill and wife Jennifer, Jason Hill and wife Tilenna, Danny Howerton and wife Kristi, Mandy Malotte and husband Curtis; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; along with other family members, friends, the wonderful ladies and Hospice employees who cared for her the last four years.
Alberta is preceded in death by her parents, Denver and Janie Phillips; husband, Joy Howerton; siblings, Cleo Phillips, Clyde Ray Phillips and Margie Webb.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel.
