Gayla Renee Handley was born in Wichita, Kansas on June 17, 1964, to Robert Brooker and Barbara Phillips. She departed this life Monday, September 9, 2024, in Harrison, Arkansas at the age of 60 years.

She had a passion for helping others, never putting herself first. Fellowshipping with her family and friends brought her great joy. She attended the Cowboy Church in Miami, Oklahoma and most recently Kings River Church in Berryville.

Gayla is survived by her sons, Brandon Albright (Patricia) of Eureka Springs, Arkansas and Casey Myers of Shell Knob, Missouri; father, Robert Brooker (Janet) of Udall, Kansas; sisters, Shiela Murray of Parkhill, Missouri and Theresa Custer of Missouri; brothers, Mike Albright (Cheyenne) of Oklahoma and David Albright (Jenny) of Oklahoma; step-brothers, Chris Jones and wife Tammy and Larry King of Kansas; step-sister, Sherry Albright of Oklahoma; grandson, Lato Myers; granddaughter, Starlene Albright; step-granddaughter, Maria Gutierrez (Devin);great-grandchildren, Hazel and Devin Jr; uncle, Gary Phillips and wife Gail, Jessie Brooker, Annette Medford, and many friend who will miss her greatly.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Albright; step-father, Jerry Albright; sister, Brenda Brooker; brother, Steve Albright; granddaughter, Christina Myers; and grandparents, Clinton and Ruby Phillips.

A memorial service will be 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Kings River Church. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
