RayHarold Eugene (Gene) Ray passed away March 19, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Gene was born on December 30, 1964, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Gene was a graduate of Berryville High where he enjoyed playing football for the Bobcats. He served three years in the Army where he became a great chef. He was a very kind and compassionate man and made friends easily with his charisma and big heart. Gene had many talents such as cooking, woodworking, whittling and making people laugh.
He is survived by his sister, Kimberly Ray Armstrong; brother, Robert Cremeen; and two step-sisters, Robin Arnold and Denise Van Hook. Gene is preceded in death by his father, Odel Ray; mother, Linda Sparks; sister, Leslie Ray; and his step-mother, Evelyn Ray.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2025, at High Cemetery with Pastor Randy Williams officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelsons Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to nelsonfuneral.com
