Jewel Marton Vance, age 78, transferred peacefully on March 9, 2026. He was born on November 17, 1947.
Jewel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who cherished his family deeply and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. A man of strong faith, Jewel faithfully served in ministry for many years, pastoring churches in Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Kansas, and California. Through his leadership, compassion, and dedication to serving others, he touched countless lives and guided many in their spiritual journeys.
He is survived by Emma Jean Dixon Vance, the love of his life for 57 years and his high school sweetheart. He leaves behind his children: Anita May Price and her spouse Bryan Price Sr., and their children James Martin Williams, Bryan K. Price II, and Sonya K. Heiskill. Anthony D’Sean Vance and his wife Maria Elisa Vance, and their children Carlos Martin Granados and his wife Daphne Martin, Liza Marie Martin Granados, and Bill Jr. Martin (known as BJ Martin) and his wife Katie Cherry Martin, whose children are Jacqueline, McKenzie, Kaylynn, and D.J. Carlos and Daphne’s children include Collin Splide and Bryson Splide (Lyiah) and their child Layla. Margaret Jean Whitfield and her spouse Guy Whitfield, and their children Kayla Whitfield (Wade Baker) and Samuel Whitfield. Kayla and Wade’s children include Brantley Shipley, Sebastian Shipley, and Rory Baker. Catherine Neeley and her spouse Wesley Neeley, and their children Alexandria Neeley and Ripley Garnon. James Patrick Vance and his spouse Janae Vance, and their children Josiah Vance and Jaxon Vance. Jewel was also blessed with many beloved bonus children, including Jenny Cramer (Scott Cramer) and Jeanie Edgmond Erwin, along with their children Dawn, Lizzie, Maggie, Joshua, Emma Jewel, Eli, and Caleb. He is also survived by his sister Lavada Taylor, his brother John Vance and his wife Joyce Vance, and his niece Gloria Vance, along with many other nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be 12:00 pm til 1:00 pm, Friday, March 13, 2026, at Nelson’s Green Forest Chapel. Memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm, with Bro. Phillip Stotts and Bro. Charles Moore officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 204 Simpson Ave, Berryville AR 72616, Central States Baptist Youth Camp, PO Box 268, Jackson, MO 63755, or Texarkana Baptist Children’s Home, 5401 E. 9th Street, Texarkana, AR 71854.
