ArmerMargie Armer of Huntsville, Arkansas was born November 7, 1938, in Dinsmore, Arkansas to John D. and Josie (Madewell) Bartlett. Margie passed away peacefully at her home in Huntsville on January 21, 2025, at the age of 86.
She was an Army wife who supported her husband during his military career. She and the children followed him faithfully all over the world. While her husband served overseas during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts, Margie wrote him daily letters that their son, Cecil, often walked to the post office to mail. Margie was a hard worker and meticulously cared for her yard and landscaping. She also volunteered for many years at the Mercy Berryville Auxiliary thrift store.
Margie is survived by her son, Cecil Armer and wife Linda; daughter, Pat Armer and husband Jerry both of Berryville; grandsons, David Armer of Bend, Oregon and Jared Armer and wife Beth of Huntsville. She is also survived by sister, Rebecca Mounce of Hindsville and sisters-in-law, Betty Bartlett of Ft. Worth, Texas, Roby Bartlett and Christine Bartlett, both of Elm Springs, Johnnie Bartlett of Huntsville; brotherin- law, Burl Walker of Huntsville; and will be missed by many other family members and friends. The family wishes to express their gratitude to everyone who cared so lovingly for mom, especially Sylvia Farmer, Theresa Armer, Savanna Shockley and Arkansas Hospice.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John D. and Josie Bartlett; husband, Dewey Armer; siblings, Anna Farrell, Doyle Bartlett, Lloyd Bartlett, Ines Walker, Jim Bartlett, Pete Bartlett, John Bartlett, Jr., Dean Bartlett; and infant sister, Thelma Bartlett.
Visitation was 9:00 a.m. till 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville, Arkansas. Funeral service began at 10:00 a.m. following visitation, with Pastor Jerry Spurlock and Chaplin Rex Grifin officiating. Interment followed at Liberty Cemetery at Dry Fork.
